Check out our Phresh Summer ’16 shoot! This time around it’s all about the pure essence of summer: easy, fun, and sunkissed.
Today we’ll chat with Stephanie, who took her model, Megan, from pale blonde to the prettiest rose gold! Stephanie has been a stylist since 2013 and specializes in styling, especially updos and braids, textured hair, fading and mens cuts.
We’ll also get the details from Kate on what green beauty products she used to give Megan her rosey glow.
Stephanie, tell us about your inspiration for Megan’s hair color?
Rose gold hair is a huge trend right now, and I personally have been wanting to do it to my own hair. So I’ve been playing around with different combinations for weeks to find the perfect tone. I used two formulas to give dimension to her color.
It’s so beautiful!
Thank you! I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Tell us about the styling for the shoot?
I used a 1.25 in curling iron and a flat iron and switched off between curls and waves in horizontal sections. Then I did a dutch french braid on one side, and a dutch fishtail braid on the other.
What products did you use to create the look?
For styling products I used R+Co Rockaway, Jackpot, and Oribe Supershine when wet, and Apres Beach after curling. I took the curls out a bit so it had more of a beachy look.
Kate, tell us what your inspiration was for Megan’s makeup?
I’m kind of obsessed with rose gold everything, so I wanted to give Megan a monochromatic look to really compliment her new hair color.
What products did you use?
I started with Jane Iredale Smooth Affair primer and brightener, Glow Time Foundation, and Active Light concealer. Then I used So Bronze 2, a matte bronzer and pale pink shimmer in one, and Sunbeam quad bronzer instead of blush, since it’s got a beautiful bright rose in the mix. On her eyes I used Rose Gold eyeshadow and Citrine Mystikol, a bronze cream liner. I finished with Black Longest Lash Mascara, Blonde brow gel. Lastly, on her lips I used Beach Plum Puregloss, a pink brown with gold shimmer. We also painted her nails with “Sailing and Nailing”, a bright matte blue, from the OPI Retro Summer collection.
We want to give a special thanks to our partners for this photoshoot, Geneoh Photography and Primp Boutique. Wardrobe styling by Marissa, the manager of Primp West End.
