Go behind the scenes of our Phresh Spring 2016 Shoot! This season, in honor of how Spring brings the vibrance back into the world, we chose to focus on color and shine.
This week we chat with our hairstylist Mandy, who created Skye’s glamorous blowout for the shoot. Also, our esthetician Kate will tell us how we can get Skye’s shimmering spring look for ourselves, with green beauty from Jane Iredale.
Mandy, what tools were used to create the beautiful blowout on Skye?
After blowing out the hair with round brushes, I used a 1 inch curling iron to create soft curls.
What products helped you create the look?
I prepped the hair with Oribe Gold Lust Oil to add moisture and sheen and protect the hair from heat. After curling, Oribe Dry Thick was sprayed at the roots and through the mid lengths to add bombshell volume. I finished with Oribe Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray to eliminate frizz throughout the day.
Kate, how could we re-create Skye’s makeup at home?
I love the Jane Iredale line! It is made with pure mineral pigments and skincare grade ingredients that are truly good for your skin. To recreate this look with Jane Iredale, start with Glow Time BB Cream foundation, then contour the cheeks with So Bronze. Use the Moonglow quad bronzer to highlight the tops of the cheekbones, and also on the eyes! Start with the gold of the quad all over lid and in the inner corner of the eyes, then contour with the bronze tone on the outer corner. Apply Longest Lash Black Ice Mascara, then fill in brows with the Great Shape brow kit. Finish with the Rose lipliner and the Play On Lip Crayon in Luscious.
